Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone had a great holiday and spent it with loved ones and doing eventful things. I took advantage of my last ever “winter break” by spending the four weeks in Florida and Pennsylvania. I must say it was more difficult than I thought to pack the right attire for spending a month in varying climates, and I felt like I was packing for two vacations: a Southern vacation and a Northern vacation. It was the perfect opportunity to see each member of my family since we all live so spread out. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa, the holidays can be such a stressful time to get everything done between seeing loved ones and exchanging presents…but it’s also a great excuse to dress festive and fabulous.
Although I spent Christmas in Northern Florida, the temperature was in the low 60’s and quickly dropped by the night time. I chose to pair a leather skirt with the Cropped Boucle Sweater. I was so excited to also pair it with my new Steve Madden Panelope booties. I usually have the hardest time finding comfortable booties that don’t make you want to take them off after the first thirty minutes of wearing them, but these are definitely an exception.
The day after Christmas has always been one of my favorite days of the year because it’s usually a lazy day where you get to utilize all the gifts you got from Christmas…and if you’re like me, the majority of my presents were clothing.
I was also lucky enough to keep the silver theme consistent in this outfit by wearing one of my favorite Christmas gifts, a beautiful David Yurman Ring.
New Years Eve has also always been one of my favorite holidays to celebrate, mostly because of the great excuse to wear a festive dress to stand out in. The past few years I’ve worn everyones typical black and gold sparkly dress, but this year I had my eye on Tobi’s So Fancy Open Back Dress. I’ve always been an admirer of open back tops or dresses, and I loved the color of this item. My boyfriend and I flew to Pennsylvania for a week and spent New Years Eve in Washington D.C.
I paired this dress with another favorite Christmas gift, my Steve Madden Riovista Booties, and my Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac Bag.
My boyfriend’s outfit of the night consisted of a vest worn over a white button down, matched with colored chinos and a bowtie to fit the tone of the night. The vest is Express, chinos are Urban Outfitters, shoes are Zara, shirt is Express as well as the Bow Tie.
One of my favorite memories thus far of 2014 was watching my southern boyfriend iceskate for the first time…IMG_0227
I hope everyone’s Holidays were spent dressing fashionable and that 2014 brings great things 🙂
