I celebrated my birthday this year over a 5 day period, and it was by far one of the best yet. I had been looking forward to this weekend for such a long time since I had multiple friends coming into the city from various places, and it definitely exceeded my expectations of a good time. My roommate & I like to share our birthday celebrations since we were born two days apart. Just when I thought my birthday would be perfect enough with amazing friends, my dad and boyfriend, it got better – my brother flew in from California and surprised me when I walked into dinner. Needless to say I immediately started bawling of happy tears (it was embarrassing & cute all at once). My brother claims the woman in front of us started crying as well, so I guess he did well.
ANYWAYS – I’ve always felt like a birthday inspires a certain style. The days leading up to my birthday, I’m always thinking of outfit ideas and constantly on the search for a great purchase. I feel like my taste in fashion has evolved over the years, but that some aspects remain the same. For example – I still LOVE crop tops, but my knowledge and love for fashion has deepened and I’ve learned how to mix highs and lows.
Friday night was the more social (and long) of the birthday bunch. I paired a crop top from a boutique on the Upper East Side with high-rise fit pin striped shorts. I loved this outfit because it was a combo of classy & sassy all at the same time.
We ended the night with some Korean Karaoke, something I’ve always wanted to do – I just didn’t think we’d be there until 4:30am.

The next best part to my celebration was a surprise date-night from my boyfriend on my actual birthday at an amazing Italian restaurant (my fav). I wore a new Mesh Mini Skirt from Bloomingdales paired with a simple black cotton crop top, booties and my new Diane Von Furstenberg Snakeskin clutch, a Bloomie’s exclusive! The skirt is classy, feminine, and can be easily worn from day into night.
